CONNECTICUT

Connecticut fronts on Long Island Sound, rather than the open Atlantic Ocean, so these beaches are not rated. Many residents frequent the nearby Rhode Island beaches as attested to by all the out-of-state license plates at Charlestown Beach, Misquamicut State Beach, and others. There are some lovely waterfront villages, such as old town Greenwich along Connecticut's coast, complete with its own town beach.
